誕生日 So, I turn 17 today. Yeah. While your own birthday is one where you're supposed to be pretty "high", somehow I'm not as lively as some others today.Maybe it's because we're a little too focused on the "more important" things in life that we have little time to spare to have an actual birthday party.
I've hinted at this for several of my former classmates. Only 2 of them actually remember that today's my birthday without my explicit mention, discounting the ones who are sharing the same day for their birthday. Kinda sucks that your birthday may tend to be obscured by another bigger event, like Council Election Voting.
"How disappointing" was essentially my thoughts on the lack of people who remember this day.
...Until just at the start of our Economics tutorial, when every other classmate gave me wishful thinking. Bowie, Benjy and Kia Wee, who went to Coro during the hour-long break, even got me a birthday present shortly before that... kiwi fruits. Oh well, better than nothing. And fortunately they're still in good edible condition after transporting them home.
It's a pleasant surprise. Just when things look pretty dull it all turns around, and for once you enter the spotlight, regardless of how brief it lasts. It's a very nice feeling. Thanks, guys.
Happy birthday, Kai-san.
